Trilogy of Eve Series

New Cover Reveal for Trilogy of Eve

Cover Reveal and New Covers for Trilogy of Eve

Hey Ya’ll!

I wanted to share the Cover for Dawn of Eve and the New covers for Dead of Eve and Blood of Eve, the first two books in the trilogy. Missing out on the Trilogy of Eve would be a damn shame. A few years ago I was on a major zombie/apocalypse kick. I came across Dead of Eve. As you can tell by the name there are three books, Dead of Eve, Blood of Eve, and Dawn of Eve. The first two have already been released, but Dawn of Eve doesn’t release until January 16, 2017. And let me tell you, I cannot wait!

My thoughts ya’ll:

The first book in the series is Dead of Eve. When I read it, I COULD NOT put it down. This book gave me the worst book hangover in the best way. It has all the elements of a great apocolyspe book. There’s angst, suspense, sexiness, and that feelings of intrigue, fear and helplessness. But Eve is a badass so you don’t have to worry about her too much.

I was so excited for the second book, Blood of Eve to come out, because Dead of Eve was a major cliffhanger. I read it all in one sitting and was just blown away. How could this amazing story come out of one woman’s head? It continues Evie’s journey with her three companions. She finds that she has the cure for the plague, but in order to save the world, she will have to make the ultimate sacrifice. Blood of Eve has all the sexy yumminess of Dead of Eve but multiplied. Be warned my friend, you will need a few tissues for the end of this book. It was a major cliffhanger and paved the way for Dawn of Eve, so of course I can’t wait for January 16th.

“Daughter of Eve. Leader of the Resistance. Mankind’s savior. Dawn is supposed to be the ultimate weapon against the bloodthirsty hybrids that control the desolate planet.

But she didn’t inherit superhuman speed or virus-curing blood.

She’s just a human.

The pursuit to unlock her power lures her into a venomous trap, where silver eyes seduce, fangs incite pleasure, and love and devastation wear the same handsome face. He’s her deepest desire, greatest enemy, and the key she’s been searching for.

With humanity balancing on an arrow’s edge, she must win his heart or destroy it.”

DAWN OF EVE (pre-order):

That synopsis makes me want to read it today! Heart of Eve is out and can be read as an intro to the series. It’s a novelette. Hopefully, it will satisfy my craving until Dawn of Eve comes out.

“My vow of celibacy has never been broken nor tempted, not even when the plague thrust me into a lawless, brutal world.
So why did God send the only surviving woman to a priest? To test me? Or to save me?”

DIY Toner with Apple cider Vinegar

DIY Facial Toner- Clears Acne Brightens Skin

***This post contains affiliate links. Any organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar will do, but the amazon link is a great deal. I do receive compensation if you buy it through the link…so in other words thanks for helpin a sista out!***

Why should I use a toner you ask? Well according to the this article on, you should use it for many reasons. One of them being it restores the pH balance of your skin after washing. Throwing off the pH balance in the skin can lead to skin issues such as wrinkles, inflammation, and even acne. I don’t know about you, but those aren’t exactly things I want to deal with if I can help it. Below I show you how to make your own toner to help you clear acne and brighten skin.

Knowing that I should use toner and wanting to be cruelty free, I choose to make my own. I came up with this recipe by using an idea from these two ladies Farah Dhukai and Funkmaster Diaries on YouTube. It combines Green Tea and Apple Cider Vinegar. It’s super easy to make and cost very little money. The great thing about this recipe is that you can totally drink it, so you know it’s perfectly safe to put on your skin.

I’ve found that Apple Cider Vinegar benefits the inside and the outside of my body. I use it to keep my digestive system running smoothly and I use it in my hair as a conditioner. See the recipe here.  Using it as a toner for my face has helped keep my oils balanced and helps with my acne. Here’s how I make it.

How to make it:

Apple Cider Vinegar-3 oz. As you can see I use Bragg’s but any raw unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar will do.

Green Tea (Make 3 to 4 bags and allow to cool)-3oz

optional– essential oils (I used tea tree and lavender)- 15 drops each. I’ve made it with and without before.

Plastic container– My bottle is 6oz. and from target in the travel toiletry section. It was $1.00.

1.Pour in your Apple Cider Vinegar.

2. Pour in your cooled Green Tea.

3. Pour in your essential oils if you plan on using them. 10 to 15 drops for each. Remember this part is optional.

4. Shake vigorously and pour a small amount onto a cotton pad. If you used the raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar, it may have some of the mother (cloudy gooey good for you substance) in it. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt you:)

5. Gently apply to your face in a circular swiping motion, allow to dry, and then add your favorite serum then moisturizer.

6. Store in a cool dry place or in the refrigerator.

The results:

This 6oz. bottle typically last me about 2-3 weeks. If it begins to smell, it’s time to whip up another batch.

The Green Tea tends to cover up the smell of the Apple Cider Vinegar. Adding the essential oils help with the smell as well. You’ll also notice that I used a 1:1 ratio of Apple Cider Vinegar to water or 1 part ACV to 1 part Green Tea. If you have more sensitive skin or the smell is just too much, drop it down to a 1:4 ratio of ACV to Green Tea or 1 part ACV to 4 Green Tea.

See…easy peasy and fun creating your own product! Affordable, easy to make, great for your skin, natural, and cruelty free!

Let me know down below in the comments how you liked it or if you used another liquid in place of the Green Tea.

My thoughts ya’ll:

About 3 years ago, I stumbled across this story called Gringa by an author named Eve Rabi. It seemed like an interesting storyline so I  read it. Eve’s writing made me devour Gringa. I literally read all of her other books available at the time in a week. Cooking and showering went to the back burner and acknowledging my husband was an after thought. Then I find out about this new book, The Other Woman. I of course binge read it in a few days.

Fast forward to now, and I have the privilege of having Eve follow me on my social media platforms. She tells me she wants a blogger’s review on The Other Woman. It had been several years since I had read it, so in order to give an honest review, I had to reread it (Not that I need an excuse to read a really good book). This is what I thought…the second time around.

My Review:

It’s un-putdownable. I do not remember being so anxious and disgusted with the villainess the last time I read this book. Eve Rabi knows how to make you hate or love a character and you for sure will hate…I mean hate Scarlett. She’s narcissistic, selfish, self centered, and a cold calculating biotch, yet also kind of entertaining and pretty funny…although I hate to admit it. The terrible thing is you know there are women out there just like her that will stop at nothing to get what they want. But I digress, Scarlett is so well written, you have steam coming out of your ears. The lengths she goes to to get Bradley are disgusting and intriguing all at the same time.

That’s just the first part of the book though. The woman she wrongs finally gets some payback. You’re cheering for Rival the entire time. All of Eve’s character’s are so well developed. The reason I gave the book a 4.5 instead of a 5 is because the cheating scenes made my stomach churn. You’re hoping that Bradley wakes up and smells the coffee, but he doesn’t and it can be hard to read at times. DO NOT let that deter you. The Other Woman is clever, funny, heart wrenching, and you absolutely cannot put it down. You will binge and you will immediately want  to read the rest of Eve’s books. Like Derailed, the sequel to The Other Woman. So go on, prepare yourself to read this psychological thriller of love and the other woman.

Why you should read it:

As I said before, The Other Woman is un-putdownable. You want to read more and more and faster and faster the further into the book you get. The funny and fast paced writing makes you devour the pages.

Want to learn about Arena and Bear, Ritchie and what happened between he and Liefie, or the finale to The Other Woman? Read the books in this order: Payback, One Way or Another, My Wife’s Lil Secret, The Other Woman, then Derailed. Even if you read The Other Woman first, you won’t be lost.  I’ve read all of them and they are all awesome and just as riveting.

About the Author:

DIY Lavender Coconut Shampoo

Homemade Lavender Coconut Shampoo

A DIY nourishing, moisturizing shampoo made with lavender castile soap and coconut milk. So as you can tell from my other pictures, I have long hair. It’s curly, course, and thiiiick…like thighs baby:) A few years ago, I started using the No Poo method. It made my hair grow like crazy. I talk about it here. It doesn’t quite moisturize my hair like I would like and sometimes I just want to wash and go. Using NoPoo is a little more involved with the baking soda and vinegar and essential oils with the water. So I started looking for recipes to make shampoo myself. I found several different recipes and settled on one with coconut milk. I knew it would be nourishing for my sometimes unruly hair.

I made a small batch at first to test it out….didn’t want to waste the ingredients if I didn’t like it on my hair.

How to make it:

1 Plastic Squeeze bootle (Got it from my local health food store for less than $2)

1/2 cup Dr.Bronner’s Castile Soap (I used the lavender kind. I got a 2 pack from Marshall’s but you can get it from pretty much any store these days)

1/3 cup of Coconut Milk (from Target, but you can use any coconut milk)

1/2 tbsp of Almond oil (Got mine from WholeFoods, but you can use any oil you have on hand…coconut, castor, jojoba)

15 drops each of Peppermint and Rosemary essential oils. (I got both from WholeFoods, just different brands)

Once I mixed all of the ingredients together, I gave the bottle a shake. And voila! My own shampoo.

The results:

I shook it up well in the shower and used it just as I would for any other shampoo. It was like silk because of the coconut milk. It lathered well and rinsed out so my hair felt squeaky clean…could literally hear it squeak. The difficult part was combing my hair out. It did leave a little bit of moisture, but not as much as I would have liked. But now two days later, My girls are like boing!

I didn’t like that it left behind some of the oils along my scalp and made my hair difficult to comb, so I tweaked the recipe and added 1/2 a cup of Castile soap instead 1/3 of a cup. Then I used a vinegar rinse to get the last little bit out and my hair. It made my hair feel so amazing! It was just what I needed to complete my hair cleansing routine.

Vinegar Rinse Recipe:

Just use 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar to 3 Parts warm water and put on your hair as your conditioner. Let it sit just like you would your normal conditioner. Go about the rest of your shower routine and rinse out at the end.

Why You should use it:

The great thing about the ACV rinse is it makes your hair shinier, I didn’t have a hard time combing it out, my scalp feels squeaky clean, and it doesn’t leave the residue on my back like regular conditioner can. My regular conditioner usually gave me bacne. Who wants to trade one problem for another? Nobody! I also had so much less hair fall out while I was washing my hair. I recommend using a vinegar rinse a few times a week anyway. It may smell a little stinky, but once it dries you’ll never know you used it. The only evidence will be your shiny hair. It’s also great for getting the residue off of your scalp.

I hope this recipe works out for some other people. It feels so great being able to control what goes on your hair. You don’t feel like it’s going to fall out because there’s some crazy chemical from your store bought shampoo and conditioner. This was also a pretty affordable recipe. I had most of the ingredients because I use them pretty frequently anyway.

Let me know how it works for you or if you chose other ingredients.

Unsuitable- The Dark Formidable Anti Hero

Rating: 4/5

“Daisy Smith has spent eighteen months of her life paying for a crime she didn’t commit. Now out of prison, she has only one focus—to get back custody of her younger brother, Jesse, who is deep in the foster care system. Desperate to rebuild her life and show the system that she is responsible enough to care for Jesse, she takes on the only job available to her—working as a maid at the Matis Estate.

On day one of her new job, Daisy meets Kastor Matis, the only son of the owners and her new boss. An enigmatic, handsome Greek god of a man, Kas is closed off, cold, and…well, kind of a bastard.

The more time Daisy spends around Kas, she starts to see there might be more to him than just his cold, bastard ways. He may actually have a heart beating in that frozen chest of his.

But Kas has secrets, too. Secrets that he’s determined to keep.

Secrets make Daisy curious.

And you know what curiosity can do…”

My thoughts ya’ll:

Knowing that you’re spending time in prison for someone else’s crime after being wrongfully accused and railroaded by the police is a hard pill to swallow. Daisy is angry about it, but doesn’t waste time trying to get even because she knows there’s nothing she can do about it. Being wrongfully accused is punishment in itself but, she doesn’t care at this point as long as she gets her baby brother back and her life on track again. She raised him and considers him her own. She’s accepted into a program that provides ex-convicts with work. Little does she know, she’s going to meet the man who changes her life. Her knew boss is the epitome of tall, dark, formidable and handsome. They find they can’t fight their passion for one another, but all is not as it seems. She’s in danger, but from who?

My Review:

I heard so many great things about this book. I couldn’t wait to read it and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was free through my kindle unlimited subscription. For some reason I’m fascinated by women that have been to prison and Samantha let me into the mindset of a convicted female, even if only a little. Daisy’s character is everything you want to be when you grow up. She’s a fighter and can have a smart mouth. Strong because she’s survived a horrific injustice and is still fighting for her life, determined because she will stop at nothing to take back her life, and she doesn’t take crap from anyone…not even her knew boss. I’d be too worried he was going to fire me to give him any lip. She doesn’t take Kas’s attitude, even though she wants him and needs her new job.

Kas is well, how can you describe the hero? Maybe more of an anti-hero? He is not a suitable book boyfriend no matter how good looking he is. He’s hot and cold, up and down, and really just a jerk. Yet together they have an undeniable passion.

Their love story was what made me mark it a 4 out of 5 stars. It seemed a little predictable. I like a little more angst. Some more screaming, ignoring, or punching would have made me like it a bit more. I wanted Daisy to make him grovel more for her forgiveness. You’re worth it girl! But it’s obviously her nature. I don’t get the drama in my own relationship (Thank you Jesus!), but I want more spice in my romances…maybe that’s just me.

Why you should read it:

The plot twist at the end totally redeemed this twisted love story. I didn’t see it coming. At. All. I hate spoilers so I won’t do that to you. That just means you have to read it for yourself.

Review of All or Nothing

ARC Review All or Nothing- A Second Chance Romance

***Jailbait has been renamed to All or Nothing-A Second Chance Romance***

Rating: 4/5

Grayson King is anything but royal…

Pepper Davenwood is the embodiment of class…

They say opposites attract, but what happens when they collide?

Recently released from prison, the only thing Grayson wants more than a fresh start is a chance to prove himself to the only woman he’s ever loved. But with a past he can’t talk about, a criminal record he can’t explain, and the mess his father left in wake of his sudden death, Grayson knows it’s not going to happen.

Until it does.

And now that he’s back in her life, Grayson realizes the very woman he’d give up everything for might be the one to take it all away. Because the heart knows no limits when it comes to love, and Grayson will do whatever it takes to keep Pepper safe. Even if it means breaking the law…again.

My thoughts ya’ll:

Being a new blogger, I am excited to get new opportunities every day. One of the greatest perks of being a blogger and reviewing books is the opportunity to read them before they’re released to everyone else. It feeds my obsession in the greatest way. Well I was given the privilege of first releasing a teaser of Jailbait a few days ago and from the first few lines, I was hooked! The best part is that I got to read the entire book these last few days and I couldn’t get enough.

Grayson King is fresh out of jail and is trying to walk the straight and narrow when he gets an opportunity from an old family friend he just can’t pass up. This old family friend just happens to be the love of his life’s father. He never wavered from his love for Pepper. He’s hard on outside, but oooey gooey on the inside.  He comes back into her life and is reminded of all of their differences and just how much she’s moved on from him. But just like any good alpha male, he pushes back into her life to get what he wants. Little does he know, she hasn’t forgotten him at all.

My Review:

I love when characters aren’t perfect and have flaws even though they’re …fictional. Gasp! I know, I wish they were out living their lives somewhere and you could call them up to check on them. Emily just happens to be one of my favorite authors and she didn’t disappoint. This story had a little bit of angst, a few secrets, and whole lotta sexy. Just the way I like em.

Pepper is a strong female. Is there any other way to be? She’s sweet, smart, sexy, and still in love with Grayson after all these years. Grayson is tough, hardened, and rough around the edges. His soft side comes out for Pepper making you just sigh out loud. Don’t get me wrong, remember the angst and secrets I mentioned? Well those are the moments where you want to scream at your kindle and definitely one of Grayson’s flaws. Together they are the perfect couple and have you rooting for them.

I like that you’re able to get into Pepper’s head and know her character a little better by these thoughts, making her really well developed. I also like that Grayson was a man’s man. Sometimes female authors have a hard time making the men sound believable, because well they’re not men. Emily gives the perfect point of view from a man’s perspective making his thoughts and actions believable.

The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is because I felt the ending was a little rushed. I won’t give out spoilers, but I’m still thinking about some the loose ends from both of their lives that weren’t quite tied up. That could have been intentional on Emily’s part, but like I said, I wanna know what’s going on with my new friends.

Why you should read it:

I loved Pepper and Grayson and their story. Entertaining, love filled, and steamy are how I’d describe this book. What are you waiting for?… Go buy it!

About the Author:

Amazing Blackhead Remover Charcoal Mask

***This post does have affiliate links to the products that I used. I do receive a small percentage through these links, but you are by no means required to purchase through them.***

Ever heard the phrase “Youtube made me buy it”? Well in this case it really is true. Youtube made me try it.

Activated charcoal is becoming pretty popular in the beauty community. There are face washes, masks, and even Biore strips with charcoal as one of the main ingredients. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s actually a supplement used to aid in digestion. So why in the world use it on your face right? Well according to the Nature’s Way Activated Charcoal label it has  “small chambers and cavities that bind up unwanted material or gas”. When you hear of someone getting their stomachs pumped, typically charcoal is used to bring the unwanted toxin out of the body. It’s been used in beauty recently because it’s thought to have the same binding action on your pores, cleaning them out.

I use charcoal for many different DIY masks but I left mine in Maui and had to buy a new bottle. It costs about $8 or $9 from my local health food store. I bought the glue for $1 from Target. The Elmer’s brand non-toxic glue is what my students used to love getting on their hands at Christmas time during out crafts and activities. You remember the stuff from being a kid, some genius classmate put it on his hands and let it dry and then started peeling it like skin. Well the mixture of the charcoal and glue kind of create the same consistency, a peel.

I am always looking for new ways to keep my face clear and extract all of the stuff that comes along with having oily skin and especially oily t-zone. I’ve tried all kinds of masks, peels and scrubs to keep my skin looking youthful. So while watching YouTube the other day, all of these DIY masks started popping up and the thumbnail pictures had me intrigued. I wanted to get that stuff out of my pores too! So I decided to give it a go.

Now I watched several different YouTube videos on how to do this mask. After watching Sylvia Gani’s video, I felt like I had a grasp of what to do.

How to Make it:

1.I opened 3 capsules (or a teaspoon) of my activated charcoal and poured them into my plastic bowl. They can be messy so be careful opening them.

2.I then began pouring in small amounts of the Elmer’s non-toxic school glue and stirred it until all was incorporated. Easy right?

3.Well then I put it on my face in sweeping motions using my ELF foundation brush. I covered all the areas of my face, being sure to avoid any hair…eyebrows, lashes, and hairline (I think I would cry if I accidentally ripped some out) and made sure that I didn’t see any of my skin through the mask. No bubbles or thin spots.

4.Now we wait…and wait….and wait. It took a good thirty minutes for it to dry. In the YouTube video she used her blowdryer so that’s an option too, but I had nothing better to do. I made the mistake of layering it on too thick in some places, so when I went to peel it off, I realized it wasn’t quite dry enough. So avoid my mistake and let it dry alllll the way.

5. Begin at the bottom of your face and start rolling/peeling the mask away. I couldn’t get mine in all one piece.

Use at your own risk. If you have sensitive skin or a low pain threshold, this mask may not be for you. It hurts! I have a pretty high pain thresh hold. Brazilian waxing, having long course hair, and a need to pop painful zits has built up my tolerance. It still hurt…bad. My little peach fuzz mustache was history! So avoid your hair! It’s glue so when it dries, it will pull those beautiful eyebrows you’ve worked so hard to get, out.

Now the good news. It cleared out quite a bit of gunk in the places I hadn’t used my comedone extractor. I tend to use my comedone extractor everyday after I shower. This is not a mask I would use often, because it hurts. Like I said in the disclaimer, if you have sensitive skin, it may not be for you.

Let me know in the comments how it went. Loose an eyebrow? Or did it give you that satisfying Biore strip result?

The Silents Waters- Beautiful Emotional Read

Rating: 4.5/5

Our lives are a collection of moments. Some utterly painful and full of yesterday’s hurts. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow’s promises.

I’ve had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones—the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones—all included him.

I was ten years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories.

This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn’t love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises.

Of moments.”

My thoughts ya’ll:

Maggie is a vivacious young girl and only child until her dad meets and marries a woman with two kids of her own. She meets Brooks through her new brother and for her six year old mind, it’s love at first sight. Declaring that she’s going to marry him she plans a rehearsal dinner in the woods close to their home. Maggie’s spunkiness comes out from the very beginning and makes you laugh out loud. What she experiences while waiting for him to show up will shape her entire life. It’s what nightmares are made of and you thank Brittainy for not making this a darker read as it so easily could have been. The fact that she lost her voice is frustrating, but the repercussions could have been so much worse.

As an adult, Brooks own tragedy becomes the catalyst for Maggie’s road to recovery. We’ve all had those times where we sulk and remain angry at the world because of our pain. We always take our pain out on the ones we love, and Brooks is no different. Maggie gives Brooks his coming to Jesus moment in an epic way. You fist pump and shout “Yea girl!” when it happens too. They have known each other all their lives and are entwined by her sadness and his love and devotion to her. That’s what makes their love so unique.

My Review:

I adore this book. It was giving me all the feels. The love scenes were tasteful and the storyline was laugh out loud and heartbreaking all in one. Maggie is spunky even when her world crashes down around her. Brooks is the book boyfriend that makes all the girls sigh and his undying devotion to Maggie brings tears to your eyes. Every one wishes they had that one person that they were undeniably connected to, and Maggie has it with Brooks. The bonus with this book is there are overlapping love stories that make you want to continue reading even more. Can you say spin off story?

The only reason I gave it a 4.5 is because of my frustration with Maggie at times. I know Brittainy intended it to be so because she based Maggies feelings off of her past experiences, but sometimes I just wanted to shout at my kindle screen. But I know that when you’re in the darkness of your past, it’s so easy to stay there.

I didn’t realize for some reason that it’s the same series as The Air He Breathes. I would have to go back and reread  to know if it’s the same couples and characters, or if the series is connected in some other way. Now it’s made me  add The Fire Between Hi and Lo to my TBR list to round out my Elements reads.

Why you should read it:

If you’re looking for a true romance with an amazing author, definitely read The Silent Waters. You may cry a little, but Maggie’s humor and Brook’s love for her will get you through it.

Retrieval- An Epic Heart Wrenching Love Story

Rating: 5/5

One story. Two couples.

I proposed on our first date.
She laughed and told me I was insane. Less than a day later, she said yes.
It was a whirlwind, but we were happy…
Until we got greedy and wanted a family.

It was a life I couldn’t give her, not for lack of trying. Fertility just wasn’t on our side. We sought out doctors and treatments. Spent money we didn’t have. Lied to our families. Smiled for our friends. Put on a brave face for a world that didn’t understand.
Finally, we were successful…
Until we were forced to bury our son.

We were left broken, battered, and destroyed.
They say love is in the details, but it was the details that ruined us.

This is the story of how I took back what had always been mine.
The retrieval of my wife and our family.

My thoughts ya’ll:

Did you read that synopsis? How could I not want to read this story.  I just knew I had to. I am a true romantic at heart and reading that Roman proposed on their first date really speaks to that romantic side of me. I’ve read Aly’s books before, so I knew the writing would be on point. Her On The Ropes Series is one of my favorite. And yet again, I was not disappointed. She writes the feelings as if she’s experienced them before. Elisabeth was sassy and Roman was the ultimate (I do mean ultimate) alpha male. Together they are fire! the chemistry between them was off the charts.

Roman and Elisabeth have the kind of love that songs are made of, books are written about, and people try to recreate every day. They each know the day they meet, and solidify it the next, that they’ve met the one. Life’s surprises and disappointments slowly tear them apart. The thing that tears them apart is something that many couples go through all too frequently and you can understand that frustration and feelings of hurt and abandonment that it brings. But, they are brought back together by the one thing that tore them apart. Even better, is that they still have the same chemistry they had when they met.

My Review:

Now. The not so great news. Retrieval is a part of a duet. It ends on a cliffhanger. So you know you just gotta read Transfer. It finishes the story and Roman and Elizabeth still have a connected part in it. It’s action packed and heart wrenching. But…I just could not like it. I know it’s because of the second couple. Clare and Heath are introduced in Retrieval, but have their own story in Transfer. They’re all interconnected through this one life event. Although what connects them, is heart wrenching and you feel each couples pain, I still just didn’t like them.

They have the makings of a great couple too. A strong heroine that does all that she needs to to survive and a protective alpha male hero that stops at nothing to rescue and ensure his woman’s safety. I have a bad habit of not liking other couples in series and I wanted Roman and Elisabeth to get back what they lost. Which is impossible because Claire has it. I just could not get into the second love story and it didn’t seem as soul scorching as Roman and Elisabeth’s. It didn’t come close to the epicness of Roman and Elisabeth’s relationship at all. Don’t get me wrong, the writing was still great, there was still suspense, and it wraps up the storyline. I just didn’t care for it. Sorry Clare and Heath…you just didn’t do it for me.

Now I’m not saying don’t read Transfer. You do need it to complete the storyline and to find out what happens.

Why you should read it:

Whew. Now that I got that off of my chest, Read Retrieval. It’s so worth it. If you’re a single woman, it will make you look forward to finding your own alpha. And if you’re in a relationship, you’ll look at your man with stars in your eyes again. Roman and Elisabeth will make you swoon.

Aly Martinez is a southern girl and wine lover. Just like me. She’s the talented author of not only Retrieval and Transfer, but The On The Ropes Series. Did you love Roman and Elisabeth just as much as I did? Think I was being to harsh on Clare and Heath? Tell me:)
