Trying to Conceive Encouragement

I love books and natural beauty, but God wanted me to use this platform for something else this post. To encourage His children. So if you’re needing encouragement in your time of conception, keep reading my dears.

Have you been checking your cervix obsessively? Overanalyzing every twinge your body is having? Cooing at every single baby you see? Eyeing those onsies? You may be like me and many other women that are trying to conceive or in the baby community, TTC.

Over the last year I’ve come across many acronyms, TTC, AF, BFP. That’s Aunt Flow and Big Fat Positive if you didn’t know. It’s so easy to get caught up in your basel body temperature, ovulating or the dreaded two week wait. Your body is telling you, “Have a baby” but it just won’t cooperate for whatever reason. Well I’ve got good news for you!

Timing

I believe that God has perfect timing. Which means He’s never late and never early. Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 2 tells us “to everything is a season and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die.” So that means we cannot rush God. I believe that if we do that, we are setting ourselves up for failure and a whole lot of stress. Not only is stress not good for our physical bodies (or our future babies), but it means we aren’t trusting in the Lord. And really do you honestly believe you can rush The Creator?

Trusting

Which brings me to my next scripture of encouragement. Proverbs 3:5-7. I had to get this one out the other day because I’ve been anxiously googling every symptom or question that my body is giving. This proverb tells us to “lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all our heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.” That’s exactly what I was trying to do. Rely on my own understanding of what’s going on. But the very next verse, verse 6,  tells me that “in all my ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain my path“. Acknowledge him in this process and He’ll guide you.

While you wait

So you may be asking “What am I supposed to do?” Well for starters you can pray. The world has convinced people that prayer is the last resort. Like that’s the absolute last thing we should do if everything doesn’t work out our way. My thought is no way! Don’t leave it as the last thing, pray now! We get to talk to the Most High God. That my friends ain’t no small thing. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us “not to fret or have anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God“. What a powerful scripture! We can let him know what we want. He doesn’t want to withhold any good thing from you (Psalm 84:11). The next verse says that if we will thank Him and make our wants known to Him, “His peace will mount guard over our heart“.

Give Thanks

We can also continue to thank Him for all of the things we already have. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to “Thank God in everything…for this is the will of God“. When you start confessing out loud your thanks to Father God, you start to see how good He is and you increase your joy. You won’t have time to fret about having to wait another month to try again because you’ll be so busy thanking Him for everything He’s given you already. So when you start to have those thoughts of Why God?, When God?, or Will it ever happen for us God?, just open up your mouth and give Him praise. Thank Him for that sexy husband He’s given you and the time He’s giving you to prepare to become an excellent mama. Thank Him for everything He’s blessed you with.

Help Others

Another thing you can do while you’re waiting on the Creator of all life to bless you with that bundle of joy, is help someone else in their time of need. It could mean something like volunteering your time or money. It could also mean praying over someone else. You could encourage someone else with these same scriptures I’m sharing with you. It could be someone as close as your hubby or family member all the way to a stranger you meet. Proverbs 11:25 tells us “the liberal person shall be enriched and he who waters shall himself be watered”. If you give and take care of others, God will in turn take care of you.

The Giver of All Life

Now I have to put a disclaimer in here. These are amazing scriptures and promises that God has made to us. It doesn’t do any good to know about these scriptures and not know the one who made you and will form that baby in your womb(Psalm 139:13). So if you’re feeling prompted to know this loving God, read Romans 10:9. “Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”. The world may have you believe that you have to do some elaborate prayer or bountiful works to be saved, but that verse very clearly tells us just how simple it is. Don’t go through this process alone, when His joy and peace is waiting right on the other side of that prayer.

Hopefully these scriptures I’ve shared with you have encouraged you to trust in the Lord and wait on Him patiently. I sure needed to hear it. I know it can be difficult when you want something so badly, but cheer up buttercup and cast your cares because He cares for you watchfully and affectionately (1 Peter 5:7).

Some other scriptures to meditate on are John 14:1, Psalm 73:28, Psalm 37:4 and Jeremiah 17:7. Remember He loves you and wants the best for you. God bless and enjoy making those babies!
